Georgia FC Silverbacks Select Coaching Staff
The Georgia FC Silverbacks Select program (U13-U19) provides players with an opportunity to participate in a professional soccer environment in one of the premier soccer clubs in the state. The Program makes a commitment to provide the best opportunities for our players to advance to the next level (ODP, Region, National, collegiate or professional) by providing consistent, organized, and purposeful instruction and training by Georgia FC coaches during the course of the season.
By reading each coach’s biography, you will realize that many have extensive playing and/or coaching experience at all levels of the game. Each possesses the USSF National or GSSA State license’s that appears directly below their name.
Lloyd White - Director of Coaching & Boys Academy Director
USSF National B License
Lloyd White has been at Georgia FC Silverbacks since it’s creation in 2002 which was created by the merger of Brookwood Soccer and Mountain Park Soccer where he was the Mountain Park Director of Coaching. Lloyd has held numerous roles at Georgia FC such as Georgia FC Director of Coaching 2003- Present, Georgia FC Academy Director 2001-Present, Georgia FC Boys Director of Coaching 2001-2003, Tournament Director Georgia FC Invitational 2001-Present, Tournament Director Georgia FC Presidents Classic 2003 Present. Lloyd also serves on the Atlanta Silverbacks Advisory Board and as Tournament Director MPSA Holiday Cup and as a Staff Coach for Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy. Lloyd has also held positions as the Director of Coaching The Soccer Academy, Director of Coaching World Soccer Systems and Piedmont College Assistant Coach (Men’s & Women’s). Lloyd is also the Director and Owner of 4 L’s Soccer Camps.
Lloyd played professional soccer in England & USA with Queens Park Rangers FC, AFC Wimbledon, Millwall FC, Brighton Hove Albion FC, in England. Atlanta Magic, Atlanta Attack, Academy Chiefs, Atlanta Lightnning, Gwinnett County Steamers, Chattanooga Express, Atlanta Express in the USA. He also played for South London, Inner London, and London & Surrey Schools.
Lloyd won a National Championship in England for South London 1976 was Captain Georgia State Select Team 1995, was selected as GYSA Boys Coach of Year 1995, and was GYSA Boys Coach Runner Up in 2000.
Lloyd is a Georgia State ODP Assessor and is a USSF National Licensed coach and also holds his FA Level 1 & 2 License.
Bruce Groshong
USSF National B License
Bruce holds a USSF B License. He has over 40 years playing experience including the semi-professional level with the Georgia Steamers. Bruce has over 25 years coaching/managing experience including Head Coach semi-professional Atlanta Lightning and Georgia Steamers (1990-1992), Assistant Coach Piedmont College (1995-2000), Head Coach Girls Varsity High School in Florida (2001-2006). Bruce is also currently Florida ODP Staff Coach. Bruce was born in Granite City, Illinois.
Justin Matthews
USSF National C License
Justin has coached youth soccer for over six years and obtained my USSF “C” coaching license in 2007. Justin has experience coaching girls and boys from Academy to high school with successful records in all categories. Justin also was a graduate assistant for Piedmont College men’s soccer team in 2004. Justin played 4 years of college soccer at Piedmont College from 2000-2003 receiving All-Conference honors in 2003.
Mike Molinari
USSF National D
Mike’s playing career started young. Mike was first introduced to a soccer academy as his family moved back to Italy and he played 4 years at Juventus Academy and youth teams. He then moved back to the States when he was 17 to play ODP. From there Mike has coached in Miami, Florida with Kendal Strikeforce who he took the U14’s to two State Cups and two Dallas Cups. Mike is a very relaxed coached who urges players to be creative and without any pressure from outside the field. Mike believes the game is beautiful when played without pressure.
Javier Vivanco
USSF National C License
Javier grew up here in GA played for ASA ’72 Mustangs Coached by his father, Jose Vivanco SR where they were the GA State Champions U12, U14, U 16, and U19. Javier graduated from Stone Mountain High School ’91, College of Charleston 91-96 where he was TAAC All Conference and Coached by Ralph Lundy. He was an Olympic Festival Invitee in 1995. Javier played professionally for the Atlanta Ruckus 1996 and 1997 and 1st F.C. Bocholt, in Germany 1998, Javier has is USSF National ‘C’ Coaching License.
